The sudden drop in value caused backlash from Welch’s fans, with one person calling her out online as they wrote: «I am a huge fan of Hawk Tuah but you took my life savings. I purchased your coin $Hawk that you were so excited about with my life savings and children’s college education fund as well.»
It’s been a minute since Welch, who completely inexplicably rode a single viral moment of TikTok fame to internet stardom, has spoken about…well, anything. Up until December 4, she went about her usual business, which included posting episodes of her Talk Tuah podcast and heavily promoting $HAWK coin at just about every turn on Twitter. Once $HAWK officially launched, the bottom seemed to fall out.
«In the context of cryptocurrencies, the legal framework is still evolving. If Welch’s team possessed non-public information about the token’s launch or had pre-arranged strategies to sell significant portions of the supply, leading to the token’s price collapse, such actions could be scrutinized under fraud or market manipulation statutes.»
When it all kicked off, Welch went of the grid and what she did during that time was pretty simple: “I would see my friends. I would go out and eat. That’s really about it. I don’t ever get out and do much when I’m home. I like being by myself.”

Think of private keys as the passwords that determine the ownership of cryptocurrencies. Keep in mind that cryptocurrencies cannot be stored outside of the blockchain. They are permanently based on the blockchain. Hence, when someone says they own X amount of coins, what they really mean is that their password can legitimately claim X amount of coins on the blockchain.
